Where do we go from here?

We’re living in the 21^st century,

And still we yearn to be set free,

Just like in George Orwell’s book,

We the people have been took,

Tricked, Bamboozled, and deceived,

By ‘democracy’ that we conceived.

War is Peace- Didn’t you know?

We always reap the seeds that we sow

Freedom is slavery - and that is why,

We feel so free every time we buy.

Ignorance is strength - so don’t think too much,

Read lots of books and you’re out of touch.

Don’t believe the hype!

Brothers and sisters it’s time to unite!

End this era of media mind control,

Ruled by elites that consume your soul.

Think for yourself and make your own choice,

Together ‘we the people’ have a mighty voice.

  

The more that you know,

The more you realize how little you know.

Diminish the ego

Diminish the ego

Educate yourself to liberate your mind

And the truth we shall find.

Listen to the people of the street

As constant as the rhythm of a heartbeat

Nobody’s voice should remain unheard,

We all connect through the spoken word

When you’re living in a bubble

You don’t see the signs of trouble

We got  to heed the cry of the people of this earth,

Observe the human right of inherent dignity and worth.

How can we stop our rising tide of depression,

When we create this sea of oppression?

Wars that are fought for diamonds and oil,

And we Benefit from another brother’s toil.

See the connection between,

Our greed,

And their need?

See the connection between,

Soldiers following orders,

And people crossing borders?

See the connection between,

The world sex trade,

And women’s rights delayed?

See the connection between,

Islamic fundamentalism

And Western militarism?

See the connection between,

Corporate banners unfurled,

And Destruction of our natural world.

See the connection between,

The life-style we have chosen,

And the web of life that’s interwoven?

Where do we go from here?

That’s the question we fear,

It seems so hard to change our lives,

But if we don’t we wont survive.

Responsibility is the price of power,

Yet still we hope to see our finest hour.
